Documentation for BAKERA.EXE V06.0E please read carefully!
Many text, CAD, paint, database, and other programs leave a backup
copy of their work files on disk when saving your files. They may be
valuable and helpful when something goes wrong, but after a while
your hard disk fills with these obsolete copies. It ist not easy to
clean them up, because they are spread over all your subdirectories.
At this point BAKERA gets in. It searches the specified drive for
filespecs you select and deletes them at your command. The default
filespecs are *.BAK, *.SIK, *.~??. If some program comes up with new
ideas how to name its backup files, BAKERA is ready to deal with them!
An install-mode lets you set up Bakera, so that the new extensions
become default too (/i).
If you are not sure whether all backup files are to be deleted, call
BAKERA with the command line option /q. BAKERA now asks you for every
file it finds, showing name, size and date. <F3> lets you peep into
the file. Then you can decide whether to delete it or not.
Two options help, if the files you want to delete are set hidden
and/or read only. Options /h and /r respectively find and delete such
files.
The option /o is interesting. It lets you decide how 'old' a file must
be to be deleted. So the younger backup files leave on the disk, while
the older ones get deleted.
When you want to delete a specific filespec only once, option /m
works for you. Here you can add your filespec manually to the list of
default ones. However, BAKERA refuses to add *.* as a filespec. This
is too dangerous for your data!
>>>>>>> Attention <<<<<<<<<<
BAKERA.EXE !!!mustn't!!! be packed with EXE-packers such as EXEPACK,
LZEXE or PKLITE. The install-procedure will not work, if BAKERA is packed.
To be aware of viruses: BAKERA.EXE is 32112 bytes long.
>>>>>>> Attention <<<<<<<<<<
This is the short help-screen, which is shown if you call BAKERA with
the help-option /?:
